The Role:

The Business Development Executive - Telstra Business is the driving force behind generating new sales leads and contacts in the Mid-Market. They partner customers to understand their business needs and using a solution sales approach, customise solutions to meet their needs. They identify, qualify and close sales opportunities to produce a win/win outcome. They are ultimately responsible for improving the company's market position and financial growth.

The Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceed sales targets by ensuring a strong pipeline of meetings, presentations and proposals are generated.
  • Develop and execute to a Sales Strategy and Plan.
  • Manage and sell through both direct and channel partnerships
  • Cold call and prospect as appropriate and plan and prepare persuasive presentations.
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships ensuring our customers are receiving a high level of customer service.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationship with Telstra Account Executives and Mobility Specialists.
  • Strong focus on business development to attract new customers.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies/developments in the ICT Industry and proactively determine how they impact current customer needs uncovering new sales opportunities.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling proposition and differentiators.
  • Liaise with the internal Sales/Technical teams to ensure the customers' needs/business drivers, concerns and objectives are met.

The Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Business Development role coupled with Account Management experience.
  • A proven track record in solution based sales, i.e. SaaS, Cloud-based solution.
  • Experience writing business proposals and responding to RFP/RFT and RFQs.
  • Persuasive presentation skills and the ability to develop strong customer relationships.
  • Understands, explains and presents complex information and ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels in a persuasive and convincing manner.
  • Previous experience working for a Telco or Technology company, or the telecommunications industry.

The Remuneration:

Up to $90K base + uncapped commissions with accelerator giving a minimum $200K OTE.
